Background:

Fusobacterium nucleatum is an oral bacterium.
Outer membrane proteins (OMPs) play crucial roles in bacterial interactions and virulence.

Purpose of the Study:

To investigate the influence of growth conditions on OMP expression in Fusobacterium nucleatum.
To identify specific OMPs whose synthesis is regulated by growth phase and nutrient availability.

Main Methods:

Culturing of multiple Fusobacterium nucleatum strains (ATCC 10953, ATCC 25586, F1 F3, F6, Fev1) in various media.
Analysis of outer membrane protein profiles using sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE).

Main Results:

No significant OMP profile differences were observed between cells in the same growth phase across different rich media.
Distinct OMP profiles were noted between early logarithmic and stationary phase cells.
