Background:

Blood lead level (BLL) monitoring in Christchurch began in 1974.
Previous studies indicated varying BLLs in the population.

Purpose of the Study:

To assess the trend of blood lead levels in a general population from 1978 to 1985.
To identify factors contributing to changes in BLLs.
